Risk/Reward

As you work to build a thriving Gospel Advancing Ministry throughout the coming year, remember that taking risks in response to God’s call on your life is a common theme in the pages of the Bible. Here are a few examples…

  • Noah risked becoming a boat builder in his old age, and he saved the human race from destruction.
  • Moses risked going back to Egypt where he was wanted for murder, and God empowered him to deliver 3 million people from slavery.
  • David risked a fight with a heavily armed, nine-foot tall giant, and he defeated the enemy of God’s people.
  • Mary risked death by stoning so she could carry the Son of God in her womb, and she was given the honor of bringing our Savior into the world.
  • The Twelve risked martyrs’ deaths, and God used them to advance the gospel and build His Church.

Why were each of these heroes of the faith willing to risk it all for God? Because they loved Him deeply and were willing to faithfully follow His call on their lives, no matter the costs. What are you willing to put on the line for Jesus this year?
